So I just saw they announced the winners of the Webby Awards.  I totally missed it!   I'd love to see what people consider the "Best" of Web Series, and maybe even be able to submit to other festivals. What other awards/festivals/contests are out there and when are they held?

Okay, I know it's lame I put this under "Contest"...it's really just an industry question, but man I really want to win... : )

Not lame. Its a valid thread and I'm glad you're in it to win it :)

Two festivals I like and proud to be involved with:

Los Angeles Web Series Festival (LA Web Fest) www.lawebfest.com

Marseille Web Series Festival (Marseille Web Fest) www.marseillewebfest.com

I'm Gunning for the LA webfest next year...
I think I'll try both...I may actually be able to attend the LA Web Fest.
Go for it...I hope to go next year. I will certainly cheer you on!

The New Media Film Festival in Los Angeles is one (their deadline has just passed). Banff has a web series competition (again, deadline is just passed).

There is one in NYC, but I can't put my hands on the URL right now. Keep looking, more and more Film Fests are adding a Web Series component.

My series, Sweet Tarts Takeaway was lucky enough to be nominated for Audience Choice Award at the NMFF. Please consider watching and voting for us. :-)

What I found interesing about the Webbys was that in the drama category, there were several truly independent productions (i.e., not made by "famous" industry types), such as the excellent "Out With Dad". However, looking at the comedy nominees, they were all offerrings from established powerhouses such as NBC and Funny or Die. That's not to say they shouldn't be nominated, I just wonder what it says about the world of comedy and web series development.

Cheers!

Hey Bonnie! :-)  ...were you thinking of the New York Television Festival in September?

The Anahiem Film Festival has also added a "New Media space" to their festival....I attended it this year with my series "Asylum" ....you should look for it next year.  :)

Was it already done this year? I went last year and they had a media day for web series. It was awesome. How did I miss it? Oh and nice to meet you.
I think you meant last year...I might have met you.
Yes! Thanks so much. And I will look at the Anaheim one too.
It means the series that are comedies have something to shoot for.  Nice to meet you!
