First the web series creator struggles with not having the viewership and fan base to attract a paying sponsor, and if he overcomes that hurdle, he'll next have to deal with a prospective sponsor who doesn't see why he should pay for publicity when he could get it for free by sending "mommy bloggers" free stuff in hopes that the bloggers will help them get the word out using their vast social media contacts (which many web series creators don't have).
One of the things I have seen at the different red carpet events from premieres (web series) to indy events like IPTVFest is that web series, new media and newcomers do not know how to act on or around the red carpet.
