Amazon.com Launches Online Movie Studio To Discover Writers, Directors and Actors -- Invites Talent To Submit Reel & Scripts


Under a first-look deal with WB, announced on Tuesday on Variety.com, US-based online retailer Amazon.com has launched its own online movie studio 'Amazon Studios' at studios.amazon.com to "discover" writers, directors and actors.

Because there's no business model around web series. With movies, they can sell tickets. With web series they can't.

These things frustrate me. The budgets are not right for movies. They ARE right for web series.

Why do studios continue to ignore what the rest of us see?
