Eminem Web Series 'Detroit Rubber' approved for Michigan film incentive, Detroit Free Press says

Last month I wrote about Eminem's new web series 'Detroit Rubber' about a sneaker boutique on Royal Oaks, a suburb of Detroit. Today, the Detroit Free Press announced that the state of Michigan has approved the series for more than $53,000 in incentives on nearly $170,000 of projected Michigan spending. Eminem is executive producer. Series is set to begin soon. There is no set date for the premiere. [Plus, we could use this in California!!!]

Gotta love the new web series business model. The days of advertising are numbered. Now its about using your own money to make the content for acquisition and licensing opportunities. That's where its going. Five years from now were not gonna be talking about "pre-rolls." Creating and selling the project is where its going.
