WSN reported last month on Activision hiring filmmakers Ridley and Tony Scott to create episodic entertainment content for Call of Duty Elite, the new social networking site for players of the COD video game.
WSN has learned that the Scott brothers through their RSA (Ridley Scott Associates) production banner will executive produce a web series called 'Friday Night Fights' focusing on video game competitions between rival groups like firemen versus cops, football versus soccer fans, with the competing teams settling their differences by playing 'Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3' which hits shelves shelves November 8.
The series premieres this fall on the CODE branched site, Elite TV, in tandem with the release of Modern Warfare 3, and will unspool on a weekly basis. Elite TV will also include web series from Will Arnett and Jason Bateman's digital studio DumbDumb, in partnership with Electus, the digital studio owned by former NBC prexy Ben Silverman.
