Producers Guild of America (PGA) has announced nominees for the 'Digital 25: Visual & Digital Effects' award to recognize 25 visionaries, innovators and pioneers who have made a significant contribution to the advancement of storytelling through digital media.
Creator of the innovative western-themed web series 'Western X' and uber-active WSN member Michael Flores is among the people nominated for the award.
"Michael Flores has created a world that has not been seen before. Using miniature models and digital manipulation, he created a new landscape for his award winning web series 'Western X. His 16 episode web series is already taking home awards at new media festivals," writes the Producers Guild of America in a statement announcing the nominees.
The recipients of the 2011 'Digital 25' will be honored with a private VIP dinner and reception on Monday, October 17 at the Variety Entertainment & Technology Summit at the Ritz Carlton Hotel in Marina Del Rey, California.
'Western X' follows the story of a mysterious traveler (played by Dustin Hale) who wanders the desolate wastelands of the western world to find the truth behind his identity, after losing his memory. The series is written and produced by Michael Flores who also directed episodes on the show. Nathan Blackwell and David Sabal are co-directors.
