There is no denying that one of YouTube's premium channels Wigs, best known for producing high-end web series with female characters in the lead role is onto something great. The channel, co-founded by filmmakers Jon Avnet (Righteous Kill, 88 Minutes, The Mighty Ducks) and Rodrigo Garcia (Six Feet Under, The Sopranos, Big Love) has produced and distributed web series starring Jennifer Garner, America Ferrara, Julia Stiles and Virgina Madsen.

Wigs is currently in its first cycle of funding as part of YouTube's initiative to invest $100,000 in 100 premium YouTube channels. Avnet says it's highly likely that Wigs will be invited to do a second cylcle of webisodes. Adds Avnet: "Maybe by the third cycle, we can be paying our actors close to cable rates and making a little money ourselves."
