Over the past six months data from our analytics shows that a high percentage of traffic to Web Series Network comes from Google Searches and direct visits to http://webseriesnetwork.com. A tiny bit comes from Facebook and YouTube, and ZERO from Twitter, LinkedIn, Pinterest, etc, which, this week, influenced my decision to remove social media buttons from WSN altogether.

I figure if you want to share our content, you would do so whether we have a social media button or not. I believe if you have good content, people will find a way to share them.

What do you think about social media buttons? Are you dropping or keeping them, and why? Tell us in the comment box below.

Views are important but engaging those who engage you is of equal importance. When a comment or question is directed at me I try and respond as soon as I get the chance. I think it's important to engage your fans but still create a respectable distance for your own sanity. I welcome the readership and interaction but the sleazy social media buttons have got to go.

A topic I have been frustrated by for sometime now!  I have chosen to disregard the number of social networking options. For the reason that has already been stated and that it provides minimal to zero return on increasing views.

The bottom line doesn't care about how many people are talking about your content, it's still views.  There are a lot of people smarter than me, but they're questioning Facebook's viability, that speaks volumes about social networking.
