This is the first time I remember hearing the boy talk and that's a great twist with the boy, it'll make it harder for him to leave him behind now!!

I haven't seen the other episodes yet, but from just watching this one, this reminded me a whole lot of "Lost".  I like it, pretty cool.

Think I'll take you up on that.

Thanks!  As far as making digital look filmic, the best things I've found are : film in 24 fps, and use Color to up the contrast and lower the saturation.  Also  there is a great "Film grain" filter in Color. Of course then you'd get a stylized film look.

BTW: We didn't use any of these suggestions on this series : )

Maybe this should be a discussion? How to make your digital look film.

Camera work, editing, top notch ... keeps it moving.  If there's any way to make the HD video more gritty, film-like ... I'd go for it.  I think it would enhance it.  Just my opinion, but it works well, just as it is.  We did a few HD videos with Double Espresso last season ... our director took down the contrast a notch or two and did his best to warm it up with After Effects ... the results were so-so ...
